Rolling in Style - Bonded Polyurethane Wheels
Image of a polyurethane wheel, with rim and tire
Instead of conventional wheel covers, one manufacturing company has developed a durable and abuse resistant treatment which bonds directly to a steel or aluminum wheel. The advantages here are more than the stylish appearance - the bonded polyurethane provides corrosion and abrasion resistance and resistance to chemicals to the wheel. The weight is about the same as a typical plastic wheel cover, but the life of the steel or aluminum wheel is extended considerably with the protective coating applied.
